Burrard Doors operates in British Columbia and handles personal information under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This page explains, in plain terms, what we collect and who sees it.
What we collect
When you book through this site, you give us:
- Your name and mobile number
- Your email address, if you choose to provide one
- Your city, and your street address if you provide it
- What you told us is wrong with your garage door, and your answers to the diagnostic questions
- Your preferred date and arrival window
We do not ask for payment details on this website, and we never ask for them by email or text.
Who sees your information
This is the part worth reading. Garage door work is carried out by independent contractors we work with, not by employees of Burrard Doors. When you book, we pass your name, contact number, address, and what you told us about the fault to the contractor assigned to your job, so they arrive prepared and can reach you.
Those contractors are separate businesses and handle your information under their own practices once it reaches them. We only share what they need to do the work.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or lead brokers.
Services we rely on
Your booking passes through a small number of service providers before it reaches us:
- Netlify — hosts this website and processes the form submission
- Make (Celonis) — routes the booking from the website to our inbox
- Google Workspace — where we receive and store the booking email
These providers operate servers outside Canada, including in the United States, which means your information may be stored or processed there and could be subject to the laws of those countries.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for up to two years so we can honour warranties and look up the history of work done at your property. After that we delete them. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email burrarddoors11@gmail.com or call (778) 870-6959. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. Our host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
